It’s funny how quickly ‘clients’ ( I use that term loosely) can become friends. I say that because we never want our couples to be ‘clients’. It just sounds so cold and not friendly. One of the best things about being a wedding photographer is creating relationships of trust, fun and friendship! Natalie and Thomas are a perfect example of this!

We first met with Natalie and her parents about their wedding because Thomas couldn’t be at the meeting. He has a limited amount of time away from his job as a greenskeeper on a golf course in South Florida. Natalie told me when she first saw the photos of the engagement session, she said Thomas’ favorites were the grass photos, ha! We had such a good time taking their photos and can’t wait for the wedding at Lake Lanier! Enjoy their engagement session!

There were so many wonderful facets to this wedding, I don’t even know where to begin! For starters, Shannon is just about the sweetest bride you could ask for. Not only sweet, but Southern sweet! Everything part of their wedding was true to her roots. In the spirit of a Southern belle, many of her details were custom monogrammed and they served fried chicken at the reception. Gregg and I were happy about that! Besides being a wonderful Southern family steeped in tradition, Shannon also comes from a Military family. Her Dad is a Colonel and her brother, a Lieutenant Colonel, so it was only fitting that she marry an Apache pilot! Alex also comes from a long line of Military servicemen.

We loved the regalia after they were married with the sabers creating an arch as they walked through. That’s the official way of ‘welcoming’ the bride to the life of a Military wife. We loved it! All of their details and the rocking dance floor set the stage for an amazing reception and we were just so excited to be part of their big day!

Happy St. Patty’s Day! Well……it’s passed now, but it was a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day for Gregg and I because we photographed the most amazing wedding in Jacksonville, Florida!

Jessica and Nick were married along the St. John’s River in Jacksonville at Club Continental. This venue is one of the most incredible natural beauties I have ever seen! It was pure eye candy when we walked in and it didn’t hurt that it was a bright and sunny day either! Jessica and Nick are both Jacksonville natives but have since moved to Utah. When it came time to plan their wedding it only made sense to have it close to family in their home town! The ceremony was simply stunning under the Live Oak trees overlooking the river. It was also a great way to celebrate St. Parick’s day too!

What an amazing wedding this was! Not only was it in Savannah (Gregg and I LOVE Savannah), but it was incredible to watch two families join together!

Sandy and Blaine got married under the Mossy Oak trees in Savannah’s Forsyth Park. The Azaleas were blooming and the fountain at Forsyth couldn’t have made a better back-drop (even with its St. Patrick’s Day green!). To say their event was a family affair is an understatement! One of the things I love about Sandy and Blaine is how close they are with their families. As this was a second marriage for both, it was so wonderful to see Sandy and Blaine and his boys become one big happy family! And how could you not love the little suits? So cute!

Their reception was at the Avia Hotel around their gorgeous open-air pool deck. It is right in the heart of Savannah and honestly, the Avia’s food was some of the best wedding food I have ever had! Sandy had mentioned to me before their wedding that she had a special ‘exit’ planned for the reception. I asking if it was sparklers or bubbles and said, well, “We were thinking about jumping in the pool!” I LOVED the idea and loved the photos even more!

The words “this is why I love my job” came out of my mouth around 30 times during this photoshoot. I mean, how could they not? Lizzy and Sean came to Gregg and I with a vision and one of the best ideas I’ve heard in a while. During their engagement, they spent most of time apart. They were long distance dating and also Sean spent a lot of time traveling for his work. When it came time to plan the engagement session, Lizzy had the best idea! Since traveling and the airport had become synonymous with seeing Sean, she wanted a travel-themed engagement session. Gregg and I loved the idea and couldn’t wait to make it happen! With a little sweet talking, we were able to have access to a couple airplanes and the hanger at Peachtree Dekalb Airport in Brookhaven. As Lizzy and Sean are always the dapper couple, we planned a sophisticated travel themed shoot. It was better than imagined and I can’t thank them enough for being the perfect models and stepping outside the box! Enjoy!

We can’t wait for October! We’re going to have a blast!

 Could this couple get any more gorgeous??! We were so excited to photograph Kristin and Bryan’s wedding in South Florida in an ultra-modern, fabulous hotel right on the beach in Ft. Lauderdale. The views were amazing and Kristin and Bryan were such a blast! Gregg and I knew them from Atlanta, and were more than pleased to go to South Florida to capture their big day!

With the feeling of the chic Hotel B Ocean, Kristin and Bryan’s wedding aesthetic was amazing! It was modern, crisp and light, just like the couple. Surrounded by close family and friends, you could just feel their love in the air and how much everyone around them loved and supported them. The reception was such an amazing party too. The music was amazing and everyone danced all night! Congratulations Kristin and Bryan and thank you so much for having us on your big day!

We had such a great time with Amy and Jason on their engagement shoot, so we were so excited for wedding day to come! It was such a great day and Emory Conference Center was a fabulous place to host the event. Amy was so sweet as she was getting ready and it was so nice catching up about everything weddings. (I also loved that her future sister-in-law was a softball player at FSU!) Jason was as cool as a cucumber and hanging with the guys. Gregg and I were excited to work with one of our favorite planners, Lisa Milko and her team from Event Perfect! They were on point as always, and we just loved the pops of color they incorporated.

One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is the chance to meet so many fabulous people. For example, Bridget and Braden. They are not only an amazing, loving couple, they are a blast to be around and have a great attitude. (Something the camera loves!) We met Bridget and Braden at the Atlanta Bridal Extravganza, then photographed an awesome engagement session and even had a chance to take photos of thier sweet puppy Shenanigans! When their wedding rolled around, We felt like we were just having a nice day with great friends! It was such a blast and all the details they incorporated were so special. Each centerpiece at the reception had a special meaning to them and truly represented them as a couple. Did I mention how I love details??

Shannon and Alex are awesome. By awesome I mean, in the first 5 minutes of their engagement session, Gregg and Alex were talking sports and Shannon and I were gossiping about wedding colors. They are truly a match made in Heaven! When Shannon mentioned wanting to do an engagement shoot that reflected their new lives together in Texas (they’re moving there after the wedding in March), Chastain Horse Park was the obvious choice. Shannon grew up riding horses and it seems like a great place to get some amazing photos. Shannon and Alex were so much fun to photograph, but I think the stars of the show were to beautiful horses at the park! We got to pet them and they always managed to pop into the photos at the right time! It didn’t hurt that the light was perfection, also!

We are so excited for Shannon & Alex’s Military wedding this spring at Lake Lanier. If the engagement session was a preview, we are going to have a blast! Enjoy the photos!
