There is nothing better than two of your good friends getting married, well, unless of course you get to shoot their wedding! We got to do just that with Emily and Alex. Emily and I went to Florida State together as well as Alex, but a few years before us. Gregg and I really got to know them as a couple (hilarious couple, BTW) at their engagement shoot. They are easy going, laid back and share many of the same interests that Gregg and I do. Good beer, good music and bootcamp!
When Emily told us that their venue was the Peachtree Club on the top floor of 999 Peachtree, we were so excited. The Peachtree club is right in the heart of Midtown Atlanta and had an incredible new terrace which was perfect for evening and skyline shots. We also got to shoot a few down on Peachtree Street. Peachtree Street is the center of the city and has become iconic to us Atlantans. The day was perfect and we were so happy to be there.
Something else that made us smile on Alex and Emily’s wedding day? The GWPhoto Booth! Well, I don’t think we were the only ones smiling! It was a huge hit with their guests, as usual. By the way, if you want to make people laugh, give them stick on mustaches. It’s awesome.
Thanks Emily and Alex! It was great and we hope you enjoy!

She had the best shoes!

All the ‘maids!

Great view of Atlanta.

The boys!

Love this!

Perfect City. Perfect Night!
I can’t even begin to tell you how amazing this photo shoot was! Well, ok, I will be honest, it was a little tough but in the end, very well worth it. Natalie Aubree was born about 4 weeks ago and is the sweetest little peanut I have ever met. Both Gregg and I were a little nervous around such a tiny little baby, but we quickly fell for her as she stared up at us with those big grayish-blue eyes. She was so sweet and just wanted to hang out with us…all afternoon! It really was ok because her Mom and Dad were wonderfully patient as we waited for little Natalie to fall asleep. Eventually she did fall into a deep sleep (great for newborn photos!) and we took some great shots of her as she napped. I love how high-key the photos turned out with the black background and with the textures of the blankets and basket.
It was a great afternoon and we really enjoyed seeing what it was like to have a newborn baby. It gave us perspective on, um, future plans! Please enjoy!
And she’s asleep!

Possibly my favorite from the whole day!

Holding her Momma’s finger

Teeny little baby feet! So adorable!

We would like to announce our new addition to the GWP family! The GWPhoto Booth! We debuted the booth at Rhonda and Dustin’s wedding in North Carolina at Lake Lure. It was a smashing success and we had the best feedback from the guests at the wedding. We knew we nailed it when not only did the younger guests love the ability to snap their own photos, but the 60+ crowd took to the booth and used almost all of the props too! (check out the photos below!)
We love the new feature and can’t wait to set it up at the next wedding. So,watch out! It’s coming to a wedding near you!

From the moment we met Rhonda and Dustin, I knew that it was a perfect match as photographer and client. They are so open and loving with each other and it really translates into their photographs. Luckily for us, it was not only a great client relationship, but they quickly became new friends too! We had such a blast at the engagement session with Rhonda and Dustin and the kids, and we couldn’t wait to shoot the wedding at Lake Lure Inn & Spa in North Carolina. It was such an amazing place to have a mountain/lake wedding and as I said before, it’s where Dirty Dancing was filmed! Actually the Patrick Swayze suite was right down the hall, which, of course, I was ecstatic about. Our room was right down the hall and was rumored to be haunted! This article explains why. Gregg and I were both totally creeped out after hearing about it!
The wedding was amazing with the whole family involved in the ceremony. The lake and the mountains made a perfect backdrop and the light was rather flat, which is awesome for shooting in. Rhonda and Dustin’s family and friends welcomed us with open arms and we snapped away catching every moment possible. There were a few moments we didn’t catch on our cameras, but the GWPhoto Booth definitely did! We debuted our booth at their wedding and it was an incredible success. Keep posted for awesome GWPhoto Booth photos coming soon!

Her dress was so amazing!

Anna & Emma, the sweet bridesmaids! (and new sisters)

I love detailed shots!

Yay! They’re married!

Possibly one of my favorites from the day! (I have a thing for black and white photos)

The reception was so great! All the kids went swimming after the wedding too.

A perfect wedding day.

How incredibly cute are they?? They may not look like it, but these two cuties are twins, Saylor and Reece. We (Gregg and I) were contacted by our friend Kelly who we took photos for of her adorable son Rex (see the photos of Rex here!). Her brother and his family were coming in town and they wanted photos of their twins and three year old Stone. Of course we said yes and were happy to shoot more photos of sweet little ones!
If you haven’t been in Atlanta lately, you are missing out on 90 + degree heat, and the weather was no exception the morning of the shoot. We found cool spot on the back deck with good light and started snapping away. The babies were so fun and were smiles almost the whole time! Quite a feat in the baby world! We had a blast and even got to see Rex again. By the way, he’s so big! We hope you enjoy the photos!!

Sweet Reece showing his two little teeth!

…and here’s Saylor!

Looking over Papa’s shoulder.

One of my favorites of Stone and Patrick

The men of the family.

Great photo of Katie and Patrick!

Another great shot of Stone playing in the garden!

What a great backdrop Atlanta makes! This gorgeous soon-to-be married pair is Shelly and Hayden. Shelly and I went to Florida State University together and were in the same sorority. When they decided that Gregg Willett Photography was going to shoot their wedding, I couldn’t have been more excited! Shelly and I hadn’t seen each other in a while but it was just like back in college!
Some of our clients ask us if it is ok for thier dog to be shot in their engagement photos. Being the doggie lovers we are (if you haven’t seen our sweet Raleigh, you can check her out here!), we love having them in the photos! Shelly and Hayden asked the same thing and we said of course. We soon found out that their ‘doggie’ is a 130 pound Cane Corso Mastiff! I was excited but quickly had images of a dog bigger than I was! Dean (the doggie) turned out to be a big baby and was so much fun to have at the shoot. Shelly, Hayden and Dean were great in photos and we were happy to capture them!
It was great (hot) day and the Atlanta skyline helped frame some amazing photos! We are really excited for Shelly and Hayden’s November wedding and hope you enjoy the photos!

There’s Dean!

Hayden was cracking us up all day! Love this shot.

So pretty!

Shelly and Dean! Great Photos!

Shelly’s ring is gorgeous!

We found a cool spot! It was so warm!

Please note the size of the bench and the size of Dean!

One of my absolute favorites! What a great day!

What an incredible day! That amazing couple sharing a kiss are Erin and Sean! Erin & Sean grew up together on Amelia Island (Fernandina Beach) and were high school sweet hearts. Both of their families are also close friends of me and my family (Caroline:)). We were all anxiously awaiting the engagement announcement because Erin and Sean had dated for 13 years! When the news came that Sean popped the question, and we all knew Erin said yes, everyone was ready for the party to celebrate! It was an awesome day and couldn’t have been more fun! Erin, Sean and the rest of the wedding party travelled around town in style in the infamous Polly the Trolley which made for some great wedding shots. We stopped at the beach to grab some photos under the pier on the way to the ceremony. Erin and Sean used to meet there in High School when they first started dating! It was really cute:)
We were so happy to be part of the big day and really captured the fun of the couple and their closest friends! Amelia Island and Walker’s Landing (where the reception was held) truly have the perfect backdrop for any wedding day. Erin & Sean, thanks for having us and Enjoy the photos!

Sean’s mother, Debbie, wore this hankerchief on her wedding day. It was a great touch!

The shoes!

The dress was stunning, I mean AMAZING! And the flowers too!

On the way to the church!

I love this photo so much. It was right when Erin walked into the church to walk down the aisle and her eyes went straight to Sean. It was awesome!

I. LOVE. THIS. PHOTO!

How cool is Polly the Trolley? Travelin’ in style:)

A quick stop at the beach.

The sunset! A perfect way to end the night!

What a wedding! One of our first destination weddings of the year went off with a bang! Our beautiful bride Carrie married her witty groom Tom in Sanibel Island, Florida at the Casa Ybel Resort. Gregg and I went down on Friday night to Sanibel and were invited to small gathering at Carrie’s Mom’s house which was about 20 minutes from where the wedding and reception was. It was so great being able to catch up and relax with everyone before the big day! We were happy to get so many compliments on the fun engagement shoot we did with Carrie and Tom a few months back. Tom’s family is from New York, close to the area Gregg is from so they had a lot (of baseball) to talk about.
The day of the wedding we met Carrie and her girls at her bridal suite, which really was sweet because it was about 30 yards away from the water! Everyone was so relaxed and mellow which makes for a happy bride and wedding. Gregg and I just snapped away at them doing their make-up and getting ready. We stepped away for a few minutes to take a couple photos of her dress which was in a little bridal house near the ceremony area. As we found out, there was more than one wedding going on, so for about 10 minutes we weren’t sure if we had the right dress!! Well, after quizzing Amelia, Carrie’s MOH sister we figured out it was the right dress. Carrie and Tom were such an amazing couple to photograph and we couldn’t have been happier with the gorgeous location and amazing weather. Thank you Carrie and Tom for having us on your big day and please enjoy the photos! We do!

The dress!

View of paradise!

Everyone wore flip flops! Perfect for a beach wedding.

Where the ceremony was held. Right on the water!

Cutting the cake! The lights inside the tent were awesome!

Everyone dancing to ‘shout’!

View of the tent! It was a great night!

How could you resist that face! This is Rex Smith and just so happens to be one of the sweetest babies Gregg and I have had a chance to photograph! His Mom Kelly and I went to college together and have randomly bumped into each other from time to time in Atlanta. We discussed doing a baby shoot over cosmopolitans at a party one night and I had no idea how sweet and wonderful Rex was!
It was such a pleasure doing this photo shoot because we were able to take advantage of the beautiful day and Kelly and Brian’s great yard and house. (Check out the Azaleas!) The nursery was decorated in cute aquatic themed pieces and the green and blue colors were perfect. We are excited to capture images of Rex when he has his first birthday in 6 months also! Enjoy the photos!!

His cute little shark footie pajamas!

His little eyes poking out while Kelly changes him. Too cute!

Probably my favorite photo from the shoot! I love how they are laughing together!

BYOB – Bring your own bottle:)

Brian’s hand and Rex’s hand:)

Cute family!

His little diaper bum!

Who can resist baby feet?

We got an email from Gregg’s college friend in January telling us she had recommended us for an upcoming wedding in the Charlotte area. We were flattered and excited. We really enjoy out of town weddings! After some email and facebook conversations with Rhonda we found out the weeding is going to be in Lake Lure, NC, where Dirty Dancing was filmed! (“Nobody puts baby in a corner!”). We realized this was an awesome opportunity We didn’t realize until the engagement shoot what a great couple Rhonda and Dustin are. Double bonus, ’cause it’s alway more fun to work with cool people!
Rhonda and Dustin met through a friend and are now bringing their lives and their kids together! I have to say, the kids already act like brother and sisters. Gregg and I had a great time getting to know them. We met up with Rhonda, Dustin, Anna, Emma and Mason at Freedom Park in Charlotte. It was an incredibly sunny day and a stone bridge surrounded by willow trees was our backdrop. The early spring leaves were back lit by the sun and looked more like the vibrant colors of autumn than the April evening it was. Perfect! The kids were hilarious and loved the camera. Well, all of them except poor Mason. Mason and his scooter had a freak encounter with the sidewalk two days before we met. (Ouch!) You are going to see a lot of Mason’s ‘left profile’ in these photos but they really turned out brilliant. It ended being a great shoot between a couple very much in love and their soon-to-be new family. We can’t wait to capture thier big day! (Please be prepared for more Dirty Dancing quotes though!!)
